Alyson was featured in a recent article at Toledo Blade in which the article focused on who can become the next Katie Holmes. The article is dated October 1st, Sunday with the heading : 5 Toledo-area actors under age 30 are among new generation of hopefuls in Hollywood. Check out the full article about Alyson below.
In some ways, Alyson Stoner just wants to be a regular teenager.
The 13-year-old former Toledoan likes to go out and set up a lemonade stand. She goes to a public school in L.A. and plays for an area basketball team.
The difference is she's kinda famous.
Not many eighth-graders have been in movies with Steve Martin (Cheaper by the Dozen and its sequel) or music videos with Missy Elliott ("Work It").
Her fellow students have noticed, and sometimes the result is unexpected.
"There's a rumor that I have a glass eye," she said. "You don't really expect that."
Stoner's acting career actually began on the dance floor. She's studied dance since age 3, and later was discovered at a modeling and talent convention in New York. She was represented there by the same local modeling and talent agency that worked with Holmes and Palicki.
The former Maumee Valley Country Day School student made it big by showing off her hip-hop moves in the Missy Elliot videos for "Work It" and "Gossip Folks."
After she'd relocated to L.A. at age 7, she decided, "Why not do it all?" and turned to acting.
Now Stoner can claim roles in the recent dance movie Step Up, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, and a regular gig on the Disney Channel's Mike's Super Short Show, where she helps promote Disney's upcoming features.
Stoner - the daughter of Charlie Stoner, who still lives in the area, and LuAnne and John Hodges, who are with her in California - remains irrepressibly bouncy, though she admits balancing auditions with schoolwork, filming, teaching hip-hop, and living her life can be a bit much.
"There's definitely times when I'm very overwhelmed and I just want to lay down and sleep for three days," she said.
There's also an accompanying slideshow but it's not currently working right now, so, i'll post it once it's finally working. Source.

YOu've seen the promotional still like a couple of months ago, so check out the video here! I've also added the caps from the vid to the gallery. This video is courtesy of Jordan. :)

wANNA BE AN EXTRA IN "ALICE" THE MOVIE? Well, now you can. I stumbled upon this piece of information in which they are searching for people to be extras in the latest Alyson movie - "Alice". Along with this piece of information, we find out more about the movie.
Alice, a feature film directed by Sandy Tung (Saving Shiloh) will shoot in St. Louis from Oct. 9th to Nov. 15th. St. Louis casting director, Joni Tackette, is casting the background for this family film Alice is based on the series of books "The Agony of Alice." It is the story of Alice McKinley, a 12 year old who just moved to a new town, and who is navigating her way thru the perils of middle school and adolescence.
"Alice" will start shooting on 10/9/2006 and stars Alyson Stoner and Jason Grebeel (they mispelled Lucas Grabeel's name wrongly)
For more information, head on to this Link if you want to give it a try to be an extra. Who knows, you might be the lucky one! They're basically looking for both kids, teens and adults.
I'm sure you've seen the new layout, and it's temporary cos' i'm still waiting until Refreshing-Alyson.net to return. Anyways, either you like it or not, well, it's going to remain up cos' it'll be easier for me to maintain. Besides that, thanks to Sarah for the heads up, the Mike's Super Short Show official Site has been recently updated with the latest new episode, The Little Mermaid DVD. I've added the caps to the gallery which you can view below. She looks really pretty and i love her hair...it's very shiny. ^_^
I'm sorry for being rather lazy these few days, but particularly, i've been trying to search for more Alyson news but i've exhausted all search options that there's nothing new left. Oh well, let's just wait till Alyson updates her official site.
Exclusive and rare! I Stumbled upon some rare images of Alyson in which she filmed a library commercial back in her former hometown Toledo and gave talks to more than 400 kids about reading. Check out the images below! This was taken in May 2006. If you noticed, she was wearing the same outfit that she wore when she taught the Dance Masterclass a while back. It could have happened on the same day, or maybe she just reused the same outfit. Either ways, she still looks great! :) Also, i'll try and see if i can find the commercial for you guys.
[EDIT]: OMG! I hit a jackpot!!! I found the commercial that Alyson filmed for back then in May 2006!!! Check out the youtube video below! I've also added caps from the commercial. ^_^ Enjoy!!! Only here at Refreshing Aly. Keep refreshing for more stuff.
Sorry for not updating in a while, cos' there's a lack of news to share, though i've updated the gallery with several new stuff which you can check out for yourself. Anyways, just a reminder that Dance Revolution on CBS will be showing on September 16th, so don't miss that out! Alyson will be a guest judge on one of the shows if i'm not mistaken.
[EDIT]: Oh, thanks to Shelby for the heads up, you can check out Alyson at the curtain call of the episode of Club Twin which someone went to the taping and recorded it. Check it out below! She appeared for several seconds. Click on the youtube vid below.
Thanks to Lissie for the heads up, ALYSON'S OFFICIAL SITE has been updated with a cool new movie that she's currently filming! Also, Lucas Grabeel is also starring in it as her older brother. Now that's something to look forward to!
[EDIT]:CHeck this out!! You can try this contest and enter a chance to win a part as extras on the movie Alice!! It seems that the movie is a theatrical motion picture based on the book from Newberry Award Winning author Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. Check out by clicking the banner below.
